One thing would be good to keep in mind: The people here mostly speak mostly what we call "heimish Yiddish" (lit. homey yiddish). Meaning, Yiddish as it spoken amongst Chasidim (who are today the largest Yiddish speaking group). It can be somewhat different from the academic Yiddish that is studied in high school and college. So if you see something you don't understand, just feel free to ask!)
